Out-of-state transfers must be conducted using a licensed firearms dealer (FFL). That is usually a sports store, gun shop, pawn store or gunsmith in or near your town. Verifying my FFL is Legit
The ATF provides a tool for use by the public to determine if an FFL's license is still valid or not. You'll need the first 3 and last 5 digits of your FFL's license number. This is public information, and no legitimate licensed FFL dealer should deny you this information, if you wish to run a check yourself. You can find it here:
